In the Village Hall the Fete Committee meets on a cold January afternoon. Later, on a hot July afternoon, the Hall becomes the command centre for the Fete itself. The committee includes nosey Ethel, long-suffering Pauline, horsey Marjorie, elderly Mavis, and reveals a world of gossip, innuendo, secrets and hidden agendas.
